Prior to reading your blog I had not even considered how the multimedia learning and its focus on the combination of audio and visual delivery would affect students with visual or auditory impairments. After you raised this point, I had to spend some time thinking about how this would affect them and ways we as educators could adapt multimedia learning because this was a new train of thought for me. I personally believe that multimedia learning could still work well for these students, it just needs a few additions. Adding aspects like movement, physical objects to feel, 3D images along with the standard words and pictures format could make it more accessible for students with impairments, as well as students with different learning styles or needs.
Thought I definitely do not speak for all people with learning disabilities, I myself as a student with a learning disability would have loved if multimedia learning was explored more in my classroom as a young student. I see multimedia learning as a way to offer more diversity in instruction and therefore give more students the chance to succeed.
